SALES POLICY

Thank you for your interest in adopting from Country Farms Rabbitry. Below you will find our adoption policy and terms of sale (updated May 2023). Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions!

VISITS:

  • We are a closed Rabbitry. Meaning we do not allow visitors in the area where our rabbits are raised. This is for the health and safety of our rabbits. No exceptions!!

  • We do however let people come to the farm to meet available rabbits in person. They will be brought out to the same area where we meet with customers for pickups.

PRICING/ADOPTIONS:

  • You may notice a wide range of prices on our rabbits. This is for multiple reasons including breed, quality and color. Prices are non negotiable.

  • Included in the adoption price is a detailed rabbit caresheet, baggy of transition feed, and a fun surprise for your new baby!

  • All of our rabbits are from pedigreed stock. However this does not mean that all rabbits will come with a pedigree. If you are wanting a pedigree with your rabbit please let us know. Some prices include pedigree and some do not. In some cases you can receive a pedigree with your rabbit for an additional fee. Rabbits being retired from our breeding program will not come with a pedigree under any circumstance.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any sale as we see fit. The safety of our rabbits will always remain our number one priority! If we cancel a sale for any reason you will be refunded in full.

RESERVATIONS:

  • You must be 18 years of age or older to reserve a rabbit from us. If you are under 18 please have a parent or guardian contact us first.

  • Rabbits are sold on a first come first serve basis. A 50% deposit is required to hold the rabbit of your choice. This goes towards the total price of the rabbit. Once a deposit is received that rabbit is considered sold and will no longer be available for anyone else to purchase. We will not hold any rabbit without a deposit. Deposits are non refundable and non transferable unless something happens to your rabbit while still in our care. Should something happen to your rabbit while still in our care you will have the option to transfer your deposit to another available rabbit. If there is no other rabbit you desire to adopt your deposit will be refunded.

  • We accept deposits via PayPal, Venmo, or cash in person. All PayPal and Venmo payments must be sent via friends and family option. We will not accept payments via the goods and services option.

PICKUPS:

  • No rabbits will be allowed to leave our care until AT LEAST 8 weeks of age. No exceptions. In the state of North Carolina it is illegal to sell any animal under the age of 8 weeks. So please do not ask.

  • You will be required to pickup your rabbit within one week of him/her turning 8 weeks old unless prior arrangements have been made. If we have to hold a rabbit for an extended period of time, a weekly boarding fee will be required. This is done on a case by case basis.

  • In some cases we may need to keep a rabbit past 8 weeks of age. This is done if we feel the baby needs a bit longer to grow and gain weight before going through the stress of transitioning to a new home. If we keep a rabbit back for this reason you will not be charged a boarding fee.

  • You will be contacted prior to your baby turning 8 weeks old to set up a time for pickup on either the day he/she turns 8 weeks old or after. Most pickups are done on weekends. However we will do our very best to work with your schedule if a week day is needed. Pickups are done by appointment only. Please understand we have a family and lives like the rest of you so we aren’t available to do pickups at just any time. We will find a time that works well for both of our schedules.

  • On the day of pickup we will meet you in the driveway of our farm at your prearranged appointment time. Please be on time. We often have multiple meetings with people in the same day and it can mess up the whole schedule for that day if one person shows up at a different time than previously scheduled for. This goes for both being late and early. We expect people to plan accordingly in order to arrive at the correct time. However we understand in some circumstances things out of your control may happen such as accidents, traffic, weather, etc. Should you be running early/late PLEASE text or call to let us know. We are very understanding people but do expect communication in these circumstances.

  • Should you need to reschedule your appointment for any reason please let us know as early as possible. That way we can let somebody else have that appointment time. We will not reschedule your pickup over and over. We understand personal things can come up and will always do our best to work with people. But please be respectful of our time as well.

TRANSPORT:

  • We DO work with several rabbit transports! Please see the transport section on our website for more information regarding this.

  • Buyer is responsible for setting up transport for their rabbit. We are more than happy to help you with the process if needed. Just ask!

  • If transport is needed, we do require you to make sure you have this arranged prior to reserving a rabbit. We don’t want people to go through picking out and reserving a rabbit only to find out later they can’t find a way to get it to them.

HEALTH/GUARANTEES:

  • Rabbits are guaranteed to be healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time they leave our care. No rabbits with any signs of illness will be available for purchase. We are not responsible for anything that happens to your rabbit after he/she leaves our care. Or any vet/medical costs that may arise after the rabbit has left our rabbitry. No refunds or exchanges given. THIS INCLUDES RABBITS WHO GO ON TRANSPORT.

  • We do our best to determine gender correctly. We check several times before each rabbit leaves us. But as with anything, please understand that mistakes can happen so we cannot guarantee that we are correct. Refunds or exchanges will not be given for incorrect gender.

  • We cannot guarantee any breeding or show results on any rabbits sold. We will not sell any rabbit with known issues breeding to a breeder home. But please understand that just because a rabbit was a successful breeder here does not mean they will be in their new home.

  • We do our best to raise rabbits with the very best temperaments. Our rabbits are handled daily starting from birth. Stressful environments such as loud noises, too small of a cage, a barking dog, handling too rough, etc. can cause stress and affect its temperament in a negative way. Therefore, we cannot guarantee a rabbit's temperament once it has left our care.

REHOMING/RESELLING:

  • ALL SALES ARE FINAL. If at any time you become unable to keep your rabbit, please contact us. In most cases we will be able to take the rabbit back. We do not want any of our rabbits surrendered to a shelter or humane society. You can surrender it back to us rather than surrender to a shelter.

  • We maintain first right of refusal of all rabbits that leave our rabbitry. Before one of our rabbits can be resold it must be offered back to us first with the option to buy it back at the original price.

***THIS SALES POLICY IS FINAL AND APPLIES TO ALL SALES WITH COUNTRY FARMS RABBITRY***
